The photo shoot took place in an all-pink nursery. Leavitt posed in a pink knit cardigan and lounge pants, while the room featured a pink-and-cream Hermès Avalon throw, a floral vintage-style coverlet, ruffle drapes and shelves lined with books including Washington, DC ABCs, a children’s Bible and a fashion book titled Handbags A to Z.
Leavitt, 28, praised the prayers she received during pregnancy and wrote "God is good." She and husband Nicholas Riccio, 60, met in 2022, became engaged the following year and married before welcoming son Niko in July 2024. Leavitt worked until five days before giving birth; during her maternity leave briefings are being handled by Vice President J.D. Vance and other cabinet members, with Marco Rubio filling in on May 5.
