A devastating incident has struck the western coast of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands. Near Los Gigantes, four individuals were tragically swept into the sea by a powerful wave, resulting in their untimely deaths. Additionally, one person remains unaccounted for. Initially, authorities had confirmed three fatalities.

The tragic event occurred shortly after 4 PM at a well-loved natural pool in the Los Gigantes area of Santiago del Teide. At the time, many visitors were enjoying the rocky coastline or swimming when an unexpected massive wave surged forward, engulfing them with tremendous force and dragging them into the depths.

Emergency services reported that several individuals were pulled away by the strong currents. Among the affected were believed to be foreign tourists, highlighting the wide-reaching impact of this incident. A rescue helicopter managed to recover one person alive, but another was found deceased.

Confirmed Fatalities

Officials later confirmed that initially, two men and one woman had lost their lives; the ages reported were a 35-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman. Tragically, a fourth woman, who had been revived and airlifted to the hospital, succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival. As of now, it is unclear if any of the victims were German nationals.
